Today we have 2 suspected eBay Motors car scams and a definite maybe. The 1st is this 2009 Jeep Wrangler X listed by dertj4444 for $5500 (181153967817).
The next is this 2008 Chevy Tahoe LT that is listed by another new seller dhles2sw for only $11,350 (130923943932).
In our personal opinion – the only way to stop eBay buyers from becoming victims of internet vehicle fraud would be requiring all new vehicle sellers with no proven track record of selling to be ID Verified. ID Verify would put the breaks on these scammers in a NY minute. But it also might hurt the corporate bottom line. I think most of us can understand where this is going.. 😆
Licensed dealers also should have their credentials verified, and pass an online course on avoiding phishing scams and proper password complexity.
eBay should also have a way to report scams without requiring account sign in or registration.
Suspected vehicle scam reports should be analyzed by a person educated in the US car business.
